A total of 21 qualifying points on the 2025 Road to the Kentucky Derby challenge series are on the line in Saturday’s $250,000 Remsen S. (G2) at Aqueduct. Seven two-year-old colts will go two turns in the 1 1/8-mile contest, including sharp debut winner Tux for conditioner Bill Mott. He is the Expert Pick of the Week.
The son of Tapit debuted on the oval on November 9 in a 6 1/2-furlong maiden special weight dash. He flashed early foot while chasing a clear leader to the top of the lane, responded to being asked by pilot Junior Alvarado, and then powered home to a 3 1/2-length victory under the wire. The LNJ Foxwoods homebred was professional in his triumph, and the February foal figures to move forward on Saturday with the added ground, as well.
Tux is well drawn on the rail for his route bow and comes in off of a solid four-furlong morning drill as of late. Alvarado retains the ride and might possibly put the gray colt on the front end soon after the start.

Keewaydin has delivered a pair of solid sprint runs to begin his career and could be the one to beat under Dylan Davis. One of two in the field for trainer Chad Brown, the $140,000 weanling purchase just missed in a tough spot at Saratoga in the summer, but the son of Instagrand left no doubt on this surface with a convincing victory on October 10. The bay has posted six morning drills in advance of his stakes debut and will be forwardly placed from the opening bell.
Godolphin homebred Poster is 2-for-2 on turf to begin his career and will make his first run on the dirt against this cast. Conditioned by Eoin Harty, the two-year-old led at every call in a debut score at Ellis Park which preceded a fine allowance victory at Keeneland most recently. The chestnut son of Munnings is an unknown quantity on the strip, but he is very talented and will also have the services of Flavien Prat in the saddle.
Expert Pick
An exacta with #1 Tux on top of #3 Poster and #5 Keewaydin in the 2024 Remsen Stakes is the Best Bet of the Week.
