Could Talk Veuve to Me face Monomoy Girl and Midnight Bisou at Saratoga?

Saturday evening saw yet another talented filly enter the divisional fray when TALK VEUVE TO ME romped by 4 3/4 lengths in the Indiana Oaks (G3) at Indiana Grand.

With jockey Julien Leparoux riding for the first time, the dark bay miss pressed the early pace, took over on the final turn and easily drew away under a hand ride to score her first stakes victory.

The lightly raced Talk Veuve to Me was making just her fifth career start and her third try against stakes rivals, having finished second in both the Eight Belles Stakes (G2) and Acorn Stakes (G1) in her past pair. The Rodolphe Brisset trainee was also stretching out past a mile for the first time in the 8 1/2-furlong affair.

The question now is will she continue on to face divisional leaders MONOMOY GIRL and MIDNIGHT BISOU?

Kentucky Oaks (G1) queen Monomoy Girl and third-placer Midnight Bisou, who was last seen dominating the Mother Goose Stakes (G2) by six lengths, are both expected to show up for Saratoga’s Coaching Club American Oaks (G1) going 1 1/8 miles on July 22.

That’s definitely too soon of a return for Talk Veuve to Me, but Brisset did say his filly was headed to Saratoga. That leaves the August 18 Alabama Stakes (G1) at 1 1/4 miles as a possibility for the dark bay daughter of Violence.

It should be noted Talk Veuve to Me has already gone against Monomoy Girl in the Acorn, finishing second by two lengths, but that contest was only a mile. She seemed to relish the stretch out to 1 1/16 miles in the Indiana Oaks, so the extra distance of the Alabama may not prove much of a hurdle for the Kentucky-bred.

Between Monomoy Girl, Midnight Bisou, Kentucky Oaks runner-up and Queen’s Plate heroine WONDER GADOT, and RED RUBY, who captured the Delaware Oaks (G3) and Black-Eyed Susan Stakes (G2) by a combined 17 3/4 lengths, this year’s crop of three-year-old fillies continues to impress with every race.
