Godolphin homebred Poster picked up 10 qualifying points on the 2025 Road to the Kentucky Derby challenge series after eclipsing the $250,000 Remsen S. (G2) at Aqueduct on December 7. Trained by Eoin Harty, the unbeaten juvenile negotiated nine furlongs on the fast main oval in 1:50.37 to win by a nose under the guidance of Flavien Prat.

“He broke OK,” Prat said. “Going into the first turn, he was struggling a bit to get into a rhythm, but then once I got into the turn he started traveling much better. I felt very well going into the last turn and I thought that horse (Aviator Gui) was kind of stuck inside, so I moved to try and get the jump on him.”

Aviator Gui, Tux, Studlydoright, and Keewaydin came next and picked up Derby points on a 5-3-2-1 basis, respectively.

Poster was unveiled on August 24 in a one-mile turf event at Ellis Park and led at every call en route to a 1 3/4-length victory. He preceded his Remsen effort with a three-length allowance romp over the Keeneland lawn on October 12. His lifetime line reads 3-3-0-0, $241,628.

The chestnut colt is the initial black-type winner produced from the winning Tapit mare Pin Up, who counts herself as a half-sister to champion and prominent sire Bernardini. His second dam, Cara Rafaela, was a Grade-1 heroine who was voted 2006 Broodmare of the Year. This is the same female line as 2012 Personal Ensign S. (G1) and Zenyatta S. (G1) queen Love and Pride.

Poster has a lot going for him entering 2025 as he has improved his Brisnet Speed figure in each start to date (77-81-92), with his top number coming in his initial run on the dirt. The son of Munnings has a nice foundation under him with a trio of route races to his credit, and he has proven to be capable of running from on, or off, of the early pace, as well. His pedigree suggests that 10 furlongs will be within his scope, too.

Harty indicated that the $250,000 Withers S. (G3) on February 1 and the $750,000 Wood Memorial S. (G2) on April 5, both at Aqueduct, are two potential targets for the talented colt next season.
