Shane's Girlfriend ran off the screen in Saturday's $400,000 Delta Downs Princess (G3), setting not only a stakes-record margin of victory but also a stakes-record time in the one-mile Kentucky Oaks (G1) prep.

Tracking in second behind longshot Flatter Up through splits of :23.06, :47.16, and 1:11.71, Shane's Girlfriend seized control with less than a quarter-mile remaining and opened up to win by 13 1/4 lengths under Flavien Prat. The final time was 1:37.98 over a fast track.

Owned by ERJ Racing, W. C. Racing, and Dennis O'Neill, Shane's Girlfriend is trained by 2012 and 2016 Kentucky Derby (G1)-winning trainer Doug O'Neill. She paid $8.80

For this win, the daughter of Adios Charlie earned 10 qualifying points toward 2017 Kentucky Oaks eligibility as part of the Road to the Kentucky Oaks series. Also earning points were runner-up Cajun Delta Dawn (4), third-place finisher Flatter Up (2), and fourth-placed Chanel's Legacy (1).

Bred in Florida by Ocala Stud, Shane's Girlfriend captured her six-furlong debut at Santa Anita on October 28 by 5 3/4 lengths. She's now earned $271,200.
